Learning an instrument is a fantastic workout for the brain. It can strengthen memory, boost focus, and support emotional wellbeing. It can help kids regulate big feelings, give adults a sense of purpose, and create moments of connection across generations.
Our Instrument Drive is all about opening those doors. Whether you’re donating an instrument or hoping to receive one, you’re helping someone build confidence, express themselves, and grow through music.
Let’s get those unused instruments into hands that will learn, play, and thrive.
Instrument requests and drop-offs in Kippa-Ring can be coordinated through our form below.
Donate An Instrument
Have an instrument that’s gathering dust? Pass it on to our instrument drive. Your donation could help someone discover their voice, regain confidence, or simply find joy. Many people struggle to purchase instruments, if you are able to offer an instrument you could be making a real difference to the wellbeing of others.
Need An Instrument?
We believe music should be accessible to everyone. If you or someone you know could benefit from an instrument, we’d love to hear from you. Simply share a bit about your musical interests or goals, and we’ll match you with what’s available. You can fill out the form below and we will contact you when we have an instrument suitable.
The service is designed for those with a disability or for those on low income however we will not be asking you to prove this.
Is it really free?
Yes, really free! No extra charges, no forced signups, no ads (you are of course welcome to join our [mailing list] but that is optional). This is a voluntary service we offer for our community
Please note
- Sorry, we don’t accept organs or acoustic pianos, they are too big and too heavy to move and keep in storage.
- Many other instrument types are welcome: Guitars, keyboards, violins, flutes, saxophones etc
- For guitar donations, don’t worry if the guitar is missing strings, we will replace them at our own cost and can also provide limited servicing for the instrument.
- We are unable to make any significant repairs so we may not take an instrument that needs too much work, but please get in touch if you are unsure, it may be more serviceable than you realise.
- If you are donating an instrument, we would love if you were able to drop off to Kippa-Ring but we may be able to arrange pickup if not. Please ask if unsure, we will try and make it work!
